CBD is Safer than Opioids

Opiate drug overdoses have become an epidemic in the United States. Drug overdose is the leading cause of accidental deaths in the US, however, no one has ever died from an overdose of cannabis or CBD.

Let me explain why it’s not possible to die from an overdoes of cannabis or CBD by first explaining how opiate overdoses cause people to die.

The brainstem is the part the brain that controls your breathing. Opiate receptors are located in the brainstem and when the brainstem is over loaded with opiates, the brainstem stops signaling and telling the body to breath. When the body stops breathing, eventually the heart stops and the result is death.

Cannabinoid receptors, however, are NOT located in the brain stem. Take a look at what the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the US federal government’s principal agency for cancer research, has to say about cannabis in an article that overviews the use of cannabis for treatment of cancer patients:

“Because cannabinoid receptors, unlike opioid receptors, are not located in the brainstem areas controlling respiration [breathing], lethal overdoses from Cannabis and cannabinoids do not occur.” (NCI, 2016).

Opiates also cloud your thinking, cause chronic constipation and are highly addictive! Opioids also don’t relieve or treat your pain but rather give you a feeling of euphoria so you will “forget” you are in pain. CBD treats the underlying causes of your pain giving you true relief! Further, opioids speed up pain receptors lowering pain tolerance and increasing the need for higher doses of opiates to treat pain. The longer a patient is on opioids, the more they need to get relief thus increasing the probability of overdose. This is also why some cross over from prescription pills to buying street heroine and shooting it up in their veins. You will not suffer from any of these side affects or issues with Sunset Hills CBD products. Before risking your life, give Sunset Hills CBD products a try!
